You must make Jingle Juice, a classic Christmas cocktail with festive flavors and a beautiful presentation.

This weekend my roommates and I had a Christmas party for just ourselves. Because of COVID, we haven’t been able to entertain guests, so we wanted to make this celebration among ourselves extra special.

We bought matching pajama sets, built a charcuterie board with Christmas-themed Trader Joe’s items, made homemade Christmas decorations, and made a delicious cocktail from this recipe.

My roommate, Madelynn, was the brains behind the Jingle Juice (the aptly named cocktail), and it was quite the crowd pleaser. It is the perfect Christmas sangria-esqe drink. Once I tried it, I knew I needed to share.

Madelynn put her own spin on the original delish recipe, linked above. To make her version, follow the recipe below:

  • 4 cups light cranberry juice
  • 2 bottles red Moscato (go cheap here, it really doesn’t matter to the final product)
  • ¾ cup vodka
  • 1 cup frozen cranberries
  • 4 limes, 2 sliced into rounds and 2 halved
  • Mint leaves
  • Granulated sugar to rim the glasses

Wet the rims of your glasses using a lime wedge and rim with the granulated sugar. Put the frozen cranberries in a pitcher, they will act as the ice in this drink. Side note, we didn’t have a pitcher (college life), so we just used a bowl—the final product was just as delicious. Combine all the cranberry juice, vodka, and Moscato in a pitcher. Squeeze the 2 halved limes into the pitcher. Top with the mint leaves, stir together, and serve in a stemless wine glass.

This recipe made about 20 servings.

With finals quickly approaching, take time to relax and celebrate the holidays with those you love. Our little party gave me the perfect break I needed to be able to dive headfirst into finals studying.
